City North Youth - reflection

I think some of the greatest things about these first few weeks of City North Youth for 2011 are the signs that it is becoming an active ministry.

We've seen the youth run a service on a Sunday night, we've seen them come to more of an understanding about what it means to be Christ Centred and from that have seen them asking was we can share that with other people.  The community at the Friday night events is fantastic, with new teens welcomed, deep discussions happening over supper and the senior youth taking an interest in what's happening in the younger youths lives.

It's also been great to see the parents take an active role in the ministry to their children.  We've had a pool party at one house and this week are visiting 3 more on a progressive dinner.  Parents also came along one night to join in and see what the ministry is all about - I think it's great to move beyond that 'babysitting' kind of idea and actually have the parents input into what's happening at youth.

All this and we're only half way through the first term... can't wait to see what happens next!
