“God created us to live with a single passion: to joyfully display his supreme excellence in all spheres of life. The wasted life is the life without passion. God calls us to pray and think and dream and plan and work not to be made much of, but to make much of him in every part of our lives”
Our latest preaching series for the evening service will delve us into John Piper’s book “Don’t Waste Your Life”. As a part of this series the Youth and Young Adults Bible study group will be reading the book together and our Tuesday night studies will coincide with the chapters read and sermons preached on Sunday nights.
This is a great opportunity for all to really immerse themselves in a study and know that others around you are joining, encouraging and traveling with you.
John Piper was the long time pastor for vision and preaching at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis until his retirement last year. He has written many books and is a driving force behind the Desiring God organisation and website.
Don’t Waste Your Life is a book that encourages the reader to not be caught in a life that will count for nothing. Most people slip by in life without a passion for God, spending their lives on trivial diversions, living for comfort and pleasure and perhaps trying to avoid sin. This book will challenge you to live and die boasting in the cross of Christ and making the glory of God you singular passion.
Please join us each Sunday evening from Feb 9 and we travel through this book and the many lessons it has for us.
