...this is important.

One thing I did during my break between jobs was unplug from social media.  I find many social media platforms integral in my day to day ministry life, so I took the opportunity to really break free when I wasn't in any formal ministry for a few weeks.

It was easier to disconnect than I thought. And I did naturally use some of that extra time in spiritual thought (reading, praying, worshiping) - so when I saw Chan's quote today it resonated with me.  I think I need to find some time daily to ignore my phone/computer/tablet and turn off all those beeps and chirps of notifications to really shut off for a while to be alone with God completely.

here is me being frank. Ive read and listened and liked a lot of Chans stuff. Really enjoyed it.

But here is the rub. Now he is no longer pastoring...its easy to critique the church.
I'm getting tired of his constant critique of church and Christians.

Well here's the thing. He is pastoring, he has planted again in San Fransisco. He has planted a house church which has grown incredibly in the last 2 years. He shared the story of his journey at Oxygen last year.

At no time did I feel he was overly critical about the church or Christians, but was striving for a Scriptural faith and living with a raw and real relationship with Jesus.

What he was critical of was his battle with the celebratism his role at his previous church ended up being. And the devotion people had to him more so than their relationship with Jesus.

I recently watched a podcast of him preaching to his entire church (all the house churches came together). He mentioned a little about how they didn't spend money on buildings and they were meeting in an open air ampithearte.

So I am not sure what you're meaning unless you hadn't heard what he's been doing for the last 2 years.
